Pakistan's own official air PIA is the first airline of Pakistan having the honor of carrying Pakistan's flag. PIA started its journey in October 1946 and was named as Orient Airways from Calcutta India. The Airline was shifted in 1947 to freshly independent country Pakistan and it was nationalized since 1955. It became the official Airline of Pakistan by the merger with another airline and got the name PIA (Pakistan international airline). Pia Airline was denationalized in 2016 and was headed over to private management. PIA got popularity for many reasons like the first Asian airline to buying jet cockpits by inaugurating a Boeing 707. It is the first-ever non-communist airline landed in the land of China and the first airline ever laded in Norway.

PIA is running all over the world and drives about 100 flights daily. PIA has its function in between all domestic and many international destinations. PIA has 35 aircraft including Airbus A-320, A-310, boing 777, 747, and ATRS. It is the only airline from developing countries that comply with IATA and IOSA and having its IATA membership. Like many other airlines, PIA has its major business hub in Jinnah international airport Karachi while Islamabad and Lahore airport is serving as secondary business points. PIA has an agreement for code sharing with China Southern Airlines, Thai Airways International and Turkish Airlines.

PIA has a codeshare agreement with many airlines and offers many traveling choices to travelers with diverse connecting flights. PIA added a lot in the comfort and convenience of the traveler by doing so. Codesharing partners are Thai Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and China Southern Airlines. Interline partners are ACCESS RAIL (UK), ACCESS RAIL (EUROPE), FLYBE, AIR ITALY, AIR CANADA, MALAYSIA AIRLINES, AIR FRANCE, SRI LANKAN AIRLINES, SWISS AIRLINES, SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES, ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS, and AIR CHINA. PIA Baggage Policy

PIA has a definite baggage policy for different travel classes. Baggage refers to the items taken for personal use or any other use with the passenger while traveling in airplanes. There are usually two types of baggage checked and un-checked. Checked baggage is taken from the passenger and is loaded in another section of the aircraft while unchecked baggage remains in the personal custody of the passenger. When a bag is checked on the time of check-in, a tag showing the identification of passengers is attached to it and a part of that tag is given to passengers to take the bag later on time of checkout. Mishandled Baggage and Lost Baggage Tracking

PIA cares its travelers a lot and takes full care of their belongings but in rare cases, if your baggage misplaced, we take responsibility and track your baggage in collaboration with a worldwide tracking system. As soon as you came to know about the misplacing of your baggage, register you're compliant in the baggage service department. Provide all details and get the receipt containing a tracking number. As soon as your baggage will track and taken by PIA staff, they will deliver it to your doorstep.
